Sri Swaminatha Swamy of Swamimalai:

Sri Swaminatha Swamy of Swamimalai Sri Swaminatha Swamy Temple of Swamimalai Puranic Event:
Swamimalai is one of the Aarupadai Veedu (one of the six holy abodes of Muruga). Sri Muruga expounded the Pranava Mantra to Lord Shiva in this place. Once when Lord Brahma was proceeding to Kailasha, child Muruga asked him the meaning of Pranava Om. When Brahma admitted his ignorance, Muruga imprisoned him. On the request of the devas, Lord Shiva commanded Muruga to release Brahma, and asked whether he himself knew the meaning of Pranava Om. Muruga replied that he knew the meaning of Om and can expound it only if he (Shiva) approaches him (Muruga) as a disciple. Lord Shiva out of fatherly love agreed and listened to the exposition of Om from Muruga at Swamimalai.

Pilgrimage:
The Swamimalai Swaminatha Swamy temple is located on a small hillock near Kumbakonam in the Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu.

Thiruvinnagar (Oppiliappan) Divya Desam - Sri Oppiliappan Perumal Temple:

Sri Vishnu Puranic Event:
According to legend, Sri Vishnu gave darshan to sage Markandeya in this place. Sri Vishnu came to sage Markandeya in the form of an old brahmin and asked for the hand of the beautiful young daughter (Bhoomi Devi) of the rishi. The daughter Bhoomi Devi was found by the rishi under a tulasi plant. When the girl grew up the rishi wanted to marry her to Narayana Himself. So in due time the Lord came in the form of an old brahmin. The rishi tried to dissuade the old brahmin in various ways, but the brahmin was adamant. The brahmin even threatened to give up his life if the girl is not given in marriage to him. Finding no other means to dissuade the brahmin, sage Markandeya closed his eyes and started praying to Sri Vishnu. When he opened his eyes, Sri Vishnu revealed Himself in His true form. The divine marriage took place in that place.

The God is Sri Oppiliappan Perumal.

The Thiruvinnagar (Oppiliappan) Divya Desam is located in the Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu.

Thirunarayoor (Nachiyar Koil) Divya Desam - Sri Thirunarayoor Nambi Perumal Temple:

Sri Vishnu Puranic Event:
According to legend, Sri Vishnu gave darshan to rishi Medhavi in this place and asked for the hand of his daughter Vanjulavalli. Vanjulavalli was Devi Mahalakshmi who had earlier left Vaikuntha and came here as a small girl. She requested the rishi to adopt Her as a daughter. In the meantime, Sri Vishnu left Vaikuntha and started searching for the goddess. Sri Vishnu assumed His pancha vyuha forms - Shankarshana, Pradyumna, Aniruddha, Samba and Purushottama, and started searching for goddess in different directions. In course of time, the five vyuhas came in Sugandharanya where the rishi was staying. The rishi extended his hospitality and Vanjulavalli also served them. When Vanjulavalli was pouring water in His hands, Perumal caught hold of Her hand. When the girl shouted and the angry rishi came running, Perumal revealed His true form to the rishi. The divine marriage took place in that place.

The God is Sri Thirunarayoor Nambi Perumal.
