River Sarayu (सरयू)

River Sarayu from Valmiki Ramayana:

Sri Rama with Vishwamitra Valmiki Ramayana (Bala Kanda 5): Ayodhya is situated on the banks of river Sarayu: The city of Ayodhya (within the kingdom of Kosala) is situated on the banks of river Sarayu.

Valmiki Ramayana (Bala Kanda 8 & later): King Dasharatha performing yagya on the bank of river Sarayu: King Dasharatha performed a yagya to get a son on the northern bank of river Sarayu.

Valmiki Ramayana (Bala Kanda 22): Sri Rama receiving Bala and Atibala mantras on the bank of river Sarayu: Sri Rama received the Bala and Atibala mantras from sage Vishwamitra while travelling along the southern bank of river Sarayu. Sri Rama spent a night on the bank of river Sarayu.
