River Sona (शोण)

Devi Sona at Narmada Shakti Peetha:

Devi Narmada Sonemuda, Amarkantaka, Madhya Pradesh Puranic Event:
Devi's Nitamba (Buttocks) fell at Narmada where She is known as Sona and the Bhairava is called Bhadrasena.
(from Peetha Nirnaya texts)

The Narmada Shakti Peetha is identified with the Sonemuda (the origin of river Sone) at Amarkantaka in Anuppur district of Madhya Pradesh. The origin of river Narmada is also at Amarkantaka which is also considered as the Shakti Peetha. This place provides an excellent view of sunrise and also the Satpura mountain ranges.
