Shaktih Shumbha-Nishumbha-Darpa-Dalinii Yaa Siddhalakssmii Paraa
Saa Cannddii Nava-Kotti-Muurti-Sahitaa Maam Paatu Vishveshvarii ||

Meaning:
1: (Salutations to Devi Banashankari) She Who is the Power of Maya behind this Creation and the Destroyer of the demons Madhu and Kaitabha (by churning them in the battle), She Who is the Destroyer to the very root of the demon Mahishasura,
2: She Who whirled round the demons Dhumrekshana (Dhumralochana), Chanda and Munda in the battle (and finally Destroyed them), She Who Destroyed the demon Raktabija by consuming him totally (each drop of his blood),
3: She Who is the Parashakti and the Destroyer of the demons Shumbha and Nishumbha (by splitting them apart), She Who is the Supreme Siddhalakshmi,
4: She Who is the Chandi accompanied by Nine Crore forms of Maha Shaktis; Please Protect me, O Vishweswari (the Goddess of the Universe).

Meaning:
1.1: In the Early Morning I Remember, O Shankari, Your Lotus Face; Your Beautiful Form with Curly Locks; Your Face having a Sweet Gentle Smile of Grace,
1.2: I Remember Your Beautiful Form with Shining Forehead decorated with fragrant Kasturi ( the fragrance which is the pride of the Musk Deer of Kashmir ); I Remember You Who Grant Fearlessness to the Three Worlds and Who is having Beautiful Eyes.

2.1: In the Early Morning I Worship, O Shankari, Your Divine Form; Your Hands decorated with Bracelets and other Ornaments made of Gold and various Gems,
2.2: I Worship Your Beautiful Form holding the Bell, Trident, Sword, Scriptures and Shield; and also sporting a Skull Cup and Damaru (Drum of Shiva).

3.1: In the Early Morning I Bow, O Shankari, to Your Lotus Feet; You Who originated from Lotus (signifies Transcendental Nature); You Who are Primordial and is Served by Virtuous and Beautiful Ganas (Divine Attendants),
3.2: I Bow down to Your Beautiful Shining Form wearing Beautiful Golden Anklets which jingles creating heavenly Music; You Who Sprout Joy in the Heart of the Devotees who Praise You; You Who are the Innermost Ruler within their Hearts.

4.1: In the Early Morning I Praise, O Shankari, Your Divine Form; You Who love the Kadamba Forest; Your Form which is Moist with the Nectar of Compassion,
4.2: I Praise Your Beautiful Form which is an Abode of Kalyana (Auspiciousness) and which Splits the Forest of the Minds of the Devotees with the Divine Blue Lustre; which is as Pure as the Panchagni (the Five Fires lit during Tapas); which Destroys even their most Formidable Distress.
