Bharatavarsha - The Land of Gods and Sages

The Spiritual Heritage of Bharatavarsha, which is the reason of its glory, is a combination of several dimensions (given below). These dimensions are interlinked and their interactions give rise to a Spiritual ecosystem. Bharatavarsha is understood when its underlying Spiritual ecosystem is understood. This Spiritual ecosystem survives even during periods of degradation. This Spiritual ecosystem can connect the ancient with the modern and evolve itself externally keeping the core intact. Due to this Spiritual ecosystem it may appear that Bharatavarsha is not driven by any human being (in the long run) but God Himself is the driver of the Tradition.

Dimensions of the Spiritual Heritage of Bharatavarsha:

1. Sacred Geography: Sacred Geography with Mountains, Rivers etc. The Mountains, Forests and Rivers were the base where life flowered. (Their degradation is evident today in the form of Climate Change and other factors)

2. Deeds of Incarnations: Stotras, Scriptures and Pilgrimages. Incarnations appeared at times to establish Dharma. The glories of the Incarnations are depicted by Stotras. Their stories are recorded in the Scriptures and their places of Leelas became places of Pilgrimages.

3. Penances of Sages: Sages, Hermitages and Penances. Sadhana was the process of attaining practical Spiritual Knowledge which was beyond book-learning.

4. Sadhanas of Saints: Saints. Saints inspired by God continued the Tradition with appropriate changes based on times.

5. Festivals: Festivals. Festivals commemorated the Deeds of Incarnations and Saints.

6. Puranic History: Puranic History and Puranic Lineage. Long-term view of Bharatavarsha starting from Creation itself.
