Penances on Lord Vishnu


Sri VishnuPenance of Krudra Rajan (Thirupullam Bhutangudi Divya Desam): Krudra Rajan meditated in this kshetra on Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu gave darshan to him in the Bhujanga Sayana posture.
Penance of Kamadhenu (Thiru Aadanur Divya Desam): Kamadhenu performed penance in this kshetra and was blessed by Lord Vishnu.
Penance of sage Bharghava (Thiru Aadanur Divya Desam): Sage Bharghava performed penance in this kshetra and was blessed to have Devi Lakshmi as his foster-daughter (Bhargavi) and Lord Vishnu as his son-in-law.
Penance of sage Markandeya (Thiruvinnagar Divya Desam): Sage Markandeya performed penance in this kshetra and was blessed to have Devi Lakshmi as his foster-daughter (Bhoomi Devi) and Lord Vishnu as his son-in-law.
Penance of sage Medhavi (Thirunaraiyur Divya Desam): Sage Medhavi performed penance in this kshetra and was blessed to have Devi Lakshmi as his foster-daughter (Vanjulavalli) and Lord Vishnu as his son-in-law.
Yagna of Lord Brahma (Thirukachi Athigiri Divya Desam): Lord Brahma performed yagna here in Satya Yuga and got the darshan of Lord Vishnu in his resplendent form. (Sri Gajendra, Sri Brihaspati and Sri Adisesha worshipped Lord Vishnu in Treta Yuga, Dwapara Yuga and Kali Yuga respectively)

Yagna of Pallavan - Villavan (Thiruparameshwara Vinnagaram Divya Desam): Pallavan and Villavan performed a yagna and got the darshan of Lord Vishnu.
Penance of sage Salihotra (Thiruvallur Divya Desam): Sage Salihotra performed penance in this kshetra and got the darshan of Lord Vishnu. (King Pradyumna also performed penance and got the darshan of Lord Vishnu)
Penance of sage Saptaromar (Thiruvallikkeni Divya Desam): Sage Saptaromar performed penance in the Vrindaranyam Kshetram and got the darshan of the Lord in the form of Gajendra Varadar.
