• Greatness:
• Sage Vasishtha lost his form due to a curse of king Nimi. He performed penance here worshipping Lord Vishnu with a form created by Lord Brahma. Thereafter, the sage regained his form.
• Sacred Geography:

Sandhyachala Hill where stream
Vasishtha Ganga flows (which is a combination of streams Sandhya, Lalita and Klanta).
Arundhati Shila is located a little further from the Basistha Ashram.
