Karatoya Shakti Peetha: Devi Aparna (Kali) temple of Bhabanipur is a Shakti Peetha identified with the Karatoya Shakti Peetha mentioned in the Peetha Nirnaya Tantra. It is located in Bhabanipur village in the Bogra district of Bangladesh on the bank of river Karatoya.

Vama Karna of Devi falling: Karatoya is the place where the Vama Karna (Left Ear) of Devi had fallen. The Devi there is known as Aparna and the Bhairava is called Vamana. (Peetha Nirnaya Tantra)
