• Shankaranarayana is a Mukti Sthala of Karnataka (Bestower of Liberation) [Kollur, Udupi, Gokarna, Subramanya, Kumbashi, Koteshwara, Shankaranarayana]

• Kroda Maharshi invoking Shankara-Narayana: Demons Kharasura and Rattasura were tormenting the common people. Kroda Maharshi performed penance on Kroda Giri and invoked Shiva and Vishnu together. Lord Shankaranarayana (Shiva-Vishnu together) appeared and vanquished the demons.
