Narmada Shakti Peetha: The origin of river Narmada as well as river Sone (Sonemuda) at Amarkantak is a Shakti Peetha identified with the Narmada Shakti Peetha mentioned in the Peetha Nirnaya Tantra. It is located in the Anuppur district of Madhya Pradesh. This place provides an excellent view of sunrise and also the Satpura mountain ranges.

Nitamba of Devi falling: Narmada is the place where the Nitamba (Buttocks) of Devi had fallen. The Devi there is known as Sona and the Bhairava is called Bhadrasena. (Peetha Nirnaya Tantra)
