Kanyashrama Shakti Peetha: Devi Bhagavathy temple of
Kanyakumari is a
Shakti Peetha identified with the
Kanyashrama Shakti Peetha mentioned in the
Peetha Nirnaya Tantra. The Shakti Peetha is identified with the Bhadrakali shrine within the temple complex. Kanyakumari is at the southermost part of India where the three seas meet - Bay of Bengal, Arabian sea and the Indian ocean.

Pristha of Devi falling: Kanyashrama is the place where the Pristha (Back) of Devi had fallen. The Devi there is known as Sarvani and the Bhairava is called Nimisha.
