Sri Rama visiting Pampa Sarovar and describing its beauty

Pampa Sarovar: Sri Rama visiting Pampa Sarovar and describing its beauty:

(Valmiki Ramayana - Aranya Kanda - 75 to Kishkindha Kanda - 1)

Sri RamaMeditation: I meditate on Sri Rama visiting the Pampa Sarovar and describing its beauty.

Sri Rama visiting Pampa Sarovar: Sri Rama visited the Pampa Sarovar on whose bank was the Rishyamuka Parvata. Sri Rama broke into rupture describing the beauty of the Pampa Sarovar along with the surrounding woodlands (Trees of Pampa Sarovar), and also his own anguish for being separated from Devi Sita.

Sugreeva becoming apprehensive: Sugreeva saw Sri Rama and Lakshmana and became filled with apprehensions (thinking that they are agents of Vali). He sent Hanuman to assess their true intentions.

(Koppal district, Karnataka)

Pampa Sarovara of Ramayana is identified with the Pampa Sarovara of Anegundi in Karnataka. This place is an abode of Pampa Devi (a form of Devi Parvati) who is the presiding deity of this place. Pampa Devi was devoted to Lord Shiva and performed penance in this place. Lord Shiva who was abiding in the Hemakuta Hill married her. Sri Rama came to this place during forest exile when he was searching for Devi Sita. Anegundi and adjoining Hampi regions are identified with the puranic Kishkindha.
