Sri Rama slaying demons Khara and Dushana in the outskirts of the Panchavati forest

Panchavati: Sri Rama slaying demons Khara and Dushana in the Panchavati forest:

(Valmiki Ramayana - Aranya Kanda - 19 to 30)

Sri Rama fightingखरदूषणमुखसूदक राम् (Khara-Dushanna-Mukha-Sudaka Raam): Who destroyed the face of demons Khara and Dushana from the world (at Panchavati-Janasthana region).

Meditation: I meditate on Sri Rama slaying demons Khara and Dushana along with their armies single-handedly in a fierce battle within the Panchavati forest.

Sri Rama slaying demons Khara and Dushana: When Sri Rama punished Supanakha, she reported her condition to brother Khara and instigated him to take revenge. Khara sent fourteen demons to eliminate Sri Rama. The fourteen demons of Khara went to Panchavati with Surpanakha and waged a war with Sri Rama. Sri Rama slayed them all. Supanakha went to Khara once again and reported the death of the demons. She advised Khara to wage a war against Rama, else Rama may eliminate the demons. Khara marched with fourteen thousand demons to wage a war with Sri Rama. On the way they saw various evil omens. Sri Rama destroyed the army of demons single-handedly in the battle. Sri Rama slayed demon Dushana and destroyed his army in the battle. Sri Rama slayed demon Trishira in the battle. Sri Rama slayed demon Khara in the battle after a long encounter. The devas showered flowers on Sri Rama.
