Bharata ruling the kingdom from Nandigrama

Nandigrama: Bharata ruling the kingdom:

(Valmiki Ramayana - Ayodhya Kanda - 113 to 115)

Bharata in NandigramaMeditation: I meditate on Sri Bharata ruling the kingdom from Nandigrama by coronating the sandals of Sri Rama.

Bharata returning to Ayodhya from Chitrakoota: Unable to bring back Sri Rama from Chitrakoota, Bharata returned to Ayodhya with the sandals of Sri Rama.

Bharata leaving Ayodhya for Nandigrama: Without the presence of Sri Rama, Bharata found Ayodhya bereft of life and was unable to bear the environment. Therefore, with the permission of the sage Vasishtha, Bharata left Ayodhya and left for Nandigrama.

Bharata ruling the kingdom from Nandigrama: Bharata coronated the sandals of Sri Rama, placed it on the throne, put a royal canopy over it (with chowrie), and ruled the kingdom from Nandigrama, as a trustee of Sri Rama. Bharata reported every significant event of the affairs of the kingdom to the sandals. In this manner, Bharata continued to rule the kingdom for 14 years eagerly awaiting Sri Rama to return.
