Aghora Incarnation
(Shiva Purana - Shata Rudra Samhita - 1)

•
Meditation: I meditate on the
Aghora Incarnation of Shiva of black complexion who is associated with Intellect.
•
Events: In another kalpa named after Shiva, there was water everywhere for several thousand divine years. Brahma was worried about how to create. Then a son appeared with black complexion, of great strength and Who was highly resplendent with His own power. He was clad in black garments and black turban, wearing black yagyapavita and smeared with black agaru. Knowing Him to be the
Aghora Incarnation of Shiva, Brahma eulogized Him. Then four sons of black complexion appeared who were smeared with black agaru. They were known as Krishna, Krishnashikha, Krishnasya and Krishna Kanthadhrik. For the purposes of creation, they initiated Brahma in the path of great yoga known as Ghora.
The Aghora Incarnation is associated with Dharma and Buddhi-tattva (Intellect).
