Ref: Sri Ramakrishna the Great Master - Part 2 - Ch 8: Sri Ramakrishna planting a new Panchavati: For performing sadhana, Sri Ramakrishna planted a new Panchavati near the old Panchavati area with the help of Hriday and a temple gardener called Bhartabhari. A small pond called the Duck pond near the old Panchavati was re-excavated and the land near the old Panchavati was made level with its mud. Due to this the Amalaki tree under which Sri Ramakrishna used to meditate was destroyed. Sri Ramakrishna then planted with his own hands a Peepal tree. He made Hriday plant the saplings of a Banyan tree, Ashoka tree, Bilva tree and Amalaki tree. He then hedged the whole place with Tulasi saplings and Aparajita creepers. The Tulasi saplings and Aparajita creepers grew so high and dense in a short time due to Sri Ramakrishna's regular watering and care that no one could see him when he sat for meditation within that enclosure.
