Ref: Sri Ramakrishna the Great Master - Part 2 - Ch 15: Arrival of Totapuri: Totapuri came to Bengal from north-western part of India to visit Gangasagara (Confluence of river Ganga and Sea) and Puri Jagannath temple. On his way back he visited the Dakshineshwar Kali temple.
Totapuri was a knower of Brahman. He attained the knowledge of Brahman through the path of Nirvikalpa Samadhi. Totapuri travelled to many places of pilgrimages and normally stayed in a place not more than three days.
