Atri-Anusuiya Ashram is located on the bank of river
Mandakini. It is said that Sati Anusuiya brought river Mandakini on earth by her hard penance when there were no rains for several years. Sri Rama, Lakshmana and Devi Sita visited the Atri Ashram during their forest exile.
