प्रधानं द्वादशारण्यं माहात्म्यं कथितं क्रमात् ।
भद्रश्रीलोहभाण्डीरमहातालखदीरकाः ।
बकुलं कुमुदं काम्यं मधु वृन्दावनं तथा ।
द्वादशैतावती सङ्खया कालिन्द्याः सप्त पश्चिमे ।
पूर्वे पञ्चवनं प्रोक्तं तत्रास्ति गुह्यमुत्तमम् ॥

Bhadra-Shrii-Loha-Bhaannddiira-Mahaa-Taala-Khadiirakaah |
Bakulam Kumudam Kaamyam Madhu Vrndaavanam Tathaa |
Dvaadashaitaavatii Sangkhayaa Kaalindyaah Sapta Pashcime |

2: Bhadravana,
Shrivana,
Lohavana,
Bhandiravana,
Mahavana,
Talavana,
Khadiravana,
3: Bakulavana,
Kumudavana,
Kamyavana,
Madhuvana and
Vrindavana,
4: Among the
Twelve of this
number (of Forests),
Seven are located in the
West of
Kalindi (River Yamuna),
5: In the
East (of Kalindi) the
Five Forests which are
said to be there, are of very
Secretive Nature (i.e. Spiritually Mysterious).
