समुद्रनिग्रहादीनि चक्रे वीर्याण्यतः परम् ॥१

Naradeva-Tvam-Aapannah Sura-Kaarya-Cikiirssayaa |
Samudra-Nigraha-[A]adiini Cakre Viiryaanny[i]-Atah Param ||1.3.22||

Meaning:
1: You assumed the form of a Naradeva (Divine in Human form), willing to perform the works of the Suras (to vanquish Ravana and his army),
2: You suppressed the Ocean (which protected Lanka), and performed other deeds of great Prowess henceforth (after crossing over to Lanka).
