Subramanya is a Mukti Sthala of Karnataka (Bestower of Liberation) [Kollur, Udupi, Gokarna, Subramanya, Kumbashi, Koteshwara, Shankaranarayana]

Sri Subramanya marrying Devasena: Sri Subramanya came to Kumara Parvata after vanquishing demons Tarakasura and others. Here Sri Subramanya married Devasena, the daughter of Indra deva.

Sri Subramanya bestowing fearlessness to Vasuki Naga: Vasuki Naga performed penance in this place to get protection from Garuda. As per Lord Shiva's will, Subramanya appeared before Vasuki Naga and gave him protection.
