1. Sages associated with Sri Rama:

(Ayodhya): Kula-guru of Sri Rama. Guided the Ashwamedha Yagna and Putrakameshti Yagnas of king Dasharatha.

(Ayodhya, Shringaverapura): Performed the Putrakameshti Yagna of king Dasharatha.
(Valmiki Ramayana - Bala Kanda - 15)

• : Father of sage Rishyashringa.

(Siddhashrama): Took Sri Rama and Lakshmana during their boyhood to protect his yagna at Siddhashrama.

(Mithila Upavana): Sri Rama visited the erstwhile hermitage of sage Gautama and Devi Ahalya at the outskirts of Mithila.

(Riksha Cavity): A lady ascetic whom the vanaras (led by Angada) met in the Riksha Cavity while searching for Devi Sita.

2. Sages associated with Lord Shiva:

(Kashi): Worshipped Lord Shiva in his hermitage in Kashi before going to the South.

(Kankhal) (Daksha Yagna): Left Daksha Yagna because Lord Shiva was not invited.

(Tryambakeshwara Jyotirlinga): Performed penance in Brahmagiri Hills and brought river Gautami Ganga.
