- Siddhpur is the place identified with the Puranic Bindu Sarovara mentioned in the Puranas.
- Puranic Bindu Sarovar is the place where Lord Vishnu incarnated as sage Kapila (as son of sage Kardama and Devahuti).
- Siddhpur is the place where Sri Parashurama is said to have performed Matru Shraddha; so it is also known as Matru Gaya.
- Siddhpur is the place where where river Saraswati is said to be flowing in hidden form.
