Rivers - from Valmiki Ramayana

  1. River Sarayu (At Koshala): River Sarayu flows through Ayodhya.
  2. Rivers Ganga-Sarayu sangama (At Anga): Sri Rama visited Anga which is situated near the confluence of rivers Ganga and Sarayu.
  3. River Shona (At Girivraja): Sri Rama visited Girivraja and camped on the bank of river Shona.
  4. River Kaushiki (In the Himalayas): Sri Rama visited Girivraja and heard that Satyavati, the sister of sage Vishwamitra flowed as river Kaushiki from the Himalayas for the welfare of human beings.
  5. River Ganga (Between Girivraja and Mithila): Sri Rama camped on the bank of river Ganga while going from Girivraja to Mithila.
  6. River Tamasa (At Koshala): Sri Rama camped on the bank of river Tamasa on the first night of his forest exile.
  7. River Vedashruti (At Koshala): Sri Rama crossed river Vedashruti during his forest exile.
  8. River Gomati (At Koshala): Sri Rama crossed river Gomati during his forest exile.
  9. River Syandika (Border of Koshala): Sri Rama crossed river Syandika during his forest exile and thereafter crossed the Koshala kingdom.
  10. River Ganga (At Shringaverapura): Sri Rama visited Shringaverapura and camped on the bank of river Ganga.
  11. Rivers Ganga-Yamuna sangama (At Prayaga): Sri Rama visited Bharadwaja Ashrama at Prayaga at the confluence of rivers Ganga and Yamuna.
  12. River Yamuna (Prayaga to Chitrakoota): Sri Rama crossed river Yamuna at Prayaga and travelled towards Chitrakoota along the bank of river Yamuna.
  13. River Mandakini (At Chitrakoota): Sri Rama stayed in Chitrakoota near the bank of river Mandakini.
  14. River Godavari (At Panchavati): Sri Rama stayed in Panchavati near the bank of river Godavari.
