- युवं तासां दिव्यस्य प्रशासने विशां क्षयथो अमृतस्य मज्मना । याभिर्धेनुमस्वं पिन्वथो नरा ताभिरू षु अतिभिरश्विना गतम् ॥

O Ashwins, by your (Taasaam) divine (Divyasya) rule (Prashaasane), you invigorate (Kssayathah) the subjects (Vishaam) with the power (Majmanaa) of nectar (Amrtasya); By which (Yaabhih) (protective aid) O leaders (Naraa), you filled (Pinvathah) the barren (Asva) cow (Dhenu) (of rishi Sayu) (with milk), with that (Taabhih) protective aid (Uutibhih) O Ashwins, come (Aa Gatam) here.

- युवं च्यवानमश्विना जरन्तं पुनर्युवानं चक्रथुः शचीभिः । युवो रथं दुहिता सूर्यस्य सह श्रिया नासत्यावृणीत ॥

O Ashwins, you two (Yuvam) by extending your mighty help (Shaciibhih) made (Cakrathuh) the aging (Jarantam) Cyavaana young (Yuvaanam) again (Punah); O Naasatyaas (Helpers), the daughter (Duhitaa) of Suurya invested (Avrnniita) your (Yuvah) chariot (Ratham) with splendour (Shriyaa).

- शतं मेषान्वृक्ये मामहानं तमः प्रणीतमशिवेन पित्रा । आक्षी ऋज्राश्वे अश्विनावधत्तं ज्योतिरन्धाय चक्रथुर्विचक्षे ॥
[Shatam Messaan-Vrkye Maamahaanam Tamah Pranniitam-Ashivena Pitraa | Aa-(A)kssii Rjraashve Ashvinaav-Adhattam Jyotir-Andhaaya Cakrathur-Vicaksse] (RV 1.117.17)
O Ashwins, when Rjraashva gave away (Maamahaanam) hundred (Shatam) sheep (Messaan) to the wolf (Vrkye), he was reduced to (Pranniitam) darkness (Tamah) (i.e. turned blind) by his unkind (Ashivena) father (Pitraa); You Ashwins gave (Adhattam) eye (Akssii) to Rjraashva and made (Cakrathuh) the blind (Andhaaya) see (Vicaksse) the light (Jyotih) again.

Ashwins helps people during distress

- याभी रेभं निवृतं सितमद्भ्य उद्वन्दनमैरयतं स्वर्दृशे । याभिः कण्वं प्र सिषासन्तमावतं ताभिरू षु ऊतिभिरश्विना गतम् ॥

O Ashwins, by which (Yaabhih) (protective aid) you rescued (Airayatam) rishis Rebha and Vandana from getting drowned (Adbhya), who were tied (Sitam) and held (Nivrtam) (i.e. thrown) (inside well), and brought them out in light (Svar) in visible sight (Drshe); By which you protected (Aavatam) rishi Kanva who was similarly longing (Sissaasantam) to see the light, by that (Taabhih) protective aid (Uutibhih) O Ashwins, come (Aa Gatam) here.

- याभिः परिज्मा तनयस्य मज्मना द्विमाता तूर्षु तरणिर्विभूषति । याभिस्त्रिमन्तुरभवद्विचक्षणस्ताभिरू षु ऊतिभिरश्विना गतम् ॥

O Ashwins, by which (Yaabhih) (protective aid) the omnipresent (Parijmaa) (referring to Vayu) hastens (Tuurssu) to spread (Tarannih) the power (Majmanaa) of the son (Tanayasya) having two (Dvi) mothers (Maataa) (referring to Agni who is lighted with two sticks), thus adorning (Vibhuussati) the worlds (with the protective power of Agni); By which (Yaabhih) (Kakshivat) became (Abhavad) learned (Vicakssannah) in the three (Tri) yagnas (Mantuh), by that (Taabhih) protective aid (Uutibhih) O Ashwins, come (Aa Gatam) here.
